Love Is A Feeling

Love Is A Feeling

The long hallway to the ICU Unit is stripped down.? There isn?t any decoration or furniture to relieve your gaze.? Without distraction I could feel my heart grow emptier and then fill with apprehension.? The universe does not like a vacuum I thought and quickly fills the empty spaces.?? I had been having such a wonderful day until this long walk to a unsure destination.

The call came around 7am just as I was leaving early to work.? I had planned on exercising and getting a tune up for my body.? Holding the receiver to my ear I heard the words ?Will you go with me today to see John?? He is in the ICU and they don?t think he will make it through the night.?

When we arrived at John?s room they were preparing to move him to a regular room.? The nurse announced this news with a large warm smile.? Come see him in his new room in an hour.

We saw John later that day.? He seemed to recognize my friend.? They knew each other since childhood. My friend took his hand and told him she loved him and that time will heal all.? It wasn?t the words in that moment but the feeling of love.? The love that went between them was thick and full like sweet cream.? You hear that words don?t teach and this was an example of something that went beyond the words and swirled around the room.? The nurse came in then and she too filled with a radiance of that palatable energy that filled the room.

John came to be in the hospital because of advanced alcoholism.? He had been homeless and lived on the streets for sometime.? He had tried treatments but nothing had worked and he continued to drink and use drugs.? Another friend had told me that she had known others who had lived this life of survival and had transformed against all odds that anything would work for them.? They now live their lives in a state of gratefulness and help others.

After our visit I took my friend home.? Her mother was there and asked about John.? When we told her that he looked better and was improving, she remarked ?What a wasted life?.? I thought about that remark as I was driving home.

His life was not one I would choose but I can only see his life today from the perspective of what I saw and felt today.

  1. I witnessed love
  2. I felt love so full it was sweet
  3. Apprehension was transformed to a moment of love
  4. There is always hope when there is love and time will heal all.
  5. A day lived with love is a very good day.

Love is a feeling always flowing, always available, always willing to find you despite criticism, judgement, alcoholism, homeless, and any thing else that might be in your current life. ?We are energetic beings always attracting what we are experiencing. ?By learning more about how to become a deliberate creator of your experience, you will get more of what you want and less of what you don?t want. ?How you might ask?
